If they don't raise enough money through pledges, you never get charged. You pledge to basically go to 1 or more screenings before they secure the license. That's why they're doing a kickstarter for their Fellini Series. Because they're so small, it's hard for them to pay for licensing films before they know tickets are sold. Its on 13th by the University and is easy to walk to from a lot of surrounding neighborhoods. I love this theater but am always surprised at how empty it is and I figure just a lot of people don't even know it exists. They also serve beer, wine, espresso, and snacks. The theater is in an old church and the stained glass and courtyard add so much character (especially during intermissions on longer films). They show old and new movies, independent movies, film festivals, and operas. The Eugene Art House Theater (formerly the Bijou) is an awesome theater.
